Now Dale backs fixed terms

I am pleased to see that the blogfather himself Iain Dale has now joined Ben Brogan and myself in arguing for a system of four-year fixed-term parliaments.

Iain will certainly be a useful addition to the campaign - especially if, as is rumoured, he succeeds the retiring Ann Widdecombe as Conservative MP for Maidstone and the Weald.

I'm curious Paul: this is the second time you've blogged about fixed-term Parliaments but skipped over completely the support for this by Liberal Democrats, and instead only mentioning Tory or Labour politicians who have come out much more recently in support of them.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say you, Iain and Benedict Brogan have all now joined the Liberal Democrats in arguing for...?

might explain why Iain has started mentioning Maidstone hospital on his blog?
